Anne + Johnathan

Anne and Johnathan’s story began over pizza, stood the test of time and came together for good in a fun, fun wedding celebration at Post Oak Lodge. Johnathan is a cowboy. And Anne is learning to live country. So it was no surprise, the groom wore boots, the bride wore boots, even their flower girl wore a tiny pair of turquoise and tan boots!

The two decided to see each other before the ceremony, and what a great moment it was! Johnathan took two steps back _ like he’d had the air knocked out of him _ and just beamed at his radiant bride. These two met years ago as high schoolers, introduced by friends one evening at Mazzio’s. Both fondly shared the memory of that moment in recollections read by their pastor during their ceremony inside the lodge’s Evergreen Room.

The reception in the lodge’s main hall featured tables covered in burlap cloths, beautiful purple and pale green hydrangea arrangements and mason jars to hold cards that guests filled out predicting where the couple will be in 20 years. They had a three-tiered cake decorated in pale purple roses and a groom’s cake that looked like a fire truck. Johnathan is a firefighter and quite a few fellow firefighters joined in the celebration.

While the guests were enjoying their cake, Anne and Johnathan headed outside for some quiet moments on a hill overlooking downtown Tulsa. They even scared up several deer who bounded off into the brush. Later, they rejoined the party on the dance floor and the real boot-scootin’ fun began. The dancing lasted late into the night, until finally friends and family gathered with sparklers and gave them a big send off. Who could blame Anne and Johnathan when they snuck back inside for some more dancing and fun? It was a great celebration! Congrats to this wonderful couple! _ Kelly
