The bride wore a glamorous fit-and-flare gown, the groom wore his Marine dress blues; the best man wore a Purple Heart. Shelby and Evan’s wedding on July 30 was a celebration not only of their union but also their reunion following Evan’s return from war. The couple married two years ago in a simple courthouse ceremony just before Evan left for his second tour of duty, but they dreamed of the day they could celebrate their marriage with family and friends. And what a celebration! From the white chairs sitting amongst strewn petals on the green grass of Cedar Ridge Country Club’s 18th hole to the carefully restored 1934 Ford that took the couple away, it was absolutely gorgeous.

Shelby made old-school Hollywood glamour look easy. She loves a vintage look and the old Ford, beautifully restored by her dad, was a perfect place to grab some pre-ceremony glam shots.

Evan and his three groomsmen, each of them wearing the honors that testified to their service in battle, took turns helping each other button the thick collars of their Marine uniforms. They never stopped looking out for each other. It was a privilege to witness the brotherhood they had formed.

Harvey’s Purple Heart came after he was shot in the leg during a gunfight. Evan was one of the men who helped pull him to safety..jpg)

Cupcakes by Nibbles looked so good, guests couldn’t wait to sample them. Cedar Ridge Country Club’s banquet room glowed in warm candlelight. .jpg)
DJ Connections kept the dance floor hopping, Evan and Shelby shared some cake-in-the-face fun and friends and family shared heartfelt toasts that brought lots of tears and smiles.

What a spectacular way to marry! Congrats Evan and Shelby on finally being able to celebrate together. ~ Kelly
We are so excited to announce that we are introducing Simply White Photo to Kansas City. This has been in the works for a little while now, but we are making it official here today! Things have been going so well here in Tulsa that we thought it was time to expand our horizons and while continuing to work with all of our fabulous Tulsa (and surrounding areas) based clients, we wanted to be able to make our services available to a new market too. So, without further adieu, meet our first Kansas City couple, the gorgeous, Rachelle and Nate!
Rachelle and Nate were married earlier this summer at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where they had a simple and elegant ceremony. Rachelle looked stunning in her white Jessica McClintock gown. Her bridesmaids wore black and white satin dresses sure to be worn many other times from White House, Black Market and carried colorful bouquets created by Toblers Flowers. The groom and his entourage donned traditional black tuxedos from Men’s Warehouses. Between the ceremony and reception we were lucky enough to have a little time so, with the entire wedding party in tow, we boarded the Custom Limousine East West Trolley and meandered to many of the coolest places in Kansas City. We went to the J.C. Nichols fountain on the Plaza, enjoyed some time rooftop overlooking all of Downtown and even managed to hit a KC photo hotspot in the West Bottoms. From there they went on to celebrate in style at the Crowne Plaza. It was a such a blast hanging out with Nate and Rachelle and all their amazing family and friends…they were a large and lively bunch, just like we like them!

Kathryn and John spent four of their six dating years living in separate parts of the country and recently, even different parts of the world. So when they came together on July 23 at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tulsa and pledged a lifetime together, their joy in finally being married was evident on their faces and simply beautiful to behold. .jpg)

She was so relaxed and beautiful in her long strapless gown. Her veil was stunning in its simplicity. Her mother sewed it into her long brown hair as Kathryn smiled beneath its soft folds. For Kathryn and John, their wedding was first and foremost a religious ceremony, sanctifying their relationship before God. They also stressed the importance of the day as a time to spend with family and friends, many of whom they won’t see for awhile when they leave for Israel, where John is studying medicine..jpg)
Kathryn, a high school English teacher, made her love for literature a very tangible part of her wedding day. Her bouquet included pages of poetry shaped into flowers with the help of some of her students..jpg)

Kathryn sings in the church choir and many choir members came to perform during the ceremony..jpg)

The couple walked from the church to their reception at the Holiday Inn Tulsa City Center. Kathryn chose the venue because of its close approximation to the church and totally played on the citrus tones that decorated the ballroom. On every table, colorful fruits filled white bowls and vases. A jazz band kept cool tunes flowing during dinner before launching into spirited tunes that filled up the dance floor later. .jpg)

When they took the dance floor, we could see it was their dance alone. All the time they had spent apart, all the time they would now spend together _ they danced and hugged and sometimes teared up, without saying a word. Later, they would tell us what they admired about the other, things like the other’s selflessness and strength. But in this moment they were awash in emotion and quietly together, a lovely, loving union. _ Kelly.jpg)
The sun dips low in the midsummer sky and backlights the world as Jennifer and Roc stroll down the stone-lined walkway through the park. The light shimmers across the water and through Jennifer’s straw-colored hair like the tall grass of the Oklahoma summer. Their love shines through it all. In October they’ll be wed here in this very place. The air will be chilled; the temperature the same.

Later, Jennifer’s heels click across the hot pavement and echo off the buildings along the sparsely populated downtown street. Hand in hand she and Roc walk along the sidewalks, past the cafes and empty offices. They sit and chat outside a bustling restaurant; pose playfully in front of a Maserati. It matches her dress. As the last light falls across the city he dips her and their effervescent laughter bounces off the glass around the city park.

Taylor and Eric have a beautiful story and it made capturing their proposal and engagement photos that much more special. They met and dated for only a while before Eric was deployed with the Air Force, to Afganistan. Through Skype, email and many calls their relationship blossomed and they are getting married at the end of October.
Technically, before the session Eric had yet to propose, as Taylor thought the ring was still being set and he couldn’t have it for at least another month, but because he lives in Utah and she lives here, they needed to do their session when he was in town.
Taylor was certainly surprised when Eric got down on one knee during their engagement session!
.jpg)
The love Eric and Taylor share was so evident. They could barely stop looking at each other and keep their hands off one another. Throughout the entire session there was constant laughter, but mostly there was surprise and excitement, as Eric turned around right in the middle of our session with the ring in his hand and got down on his knee. Taylor was totally shocked and they were both so happy. Smiles never left their faces the rest of our session and I am sure the rest of the weekend.
Congratulations to this beautiful couple and Simply White Photo can’t wait for the wedding!
